Matryoshka
Matryoshka is one of the symbols of Russia, a souvenir toy. Matryoshkas are sets of hollow painted wooden dolls with surfaces painted in bright colors, each of which can be put into a bigger one. The very first matryoshka were made in Sergiev Posad, near Moscow, now they are produced in several Russian towns. A traditional matryoshka impersonates a pink-cheeked peasant girl withering a shawl on her head. Nowadays, you can find all sorts of Matryoshkas, ranging from traditional ones to the dolls portraying well-known politicians (from Lenin, Stalin, to Gorbachov, Putin and so on.).
