I have been a completely devoted husband who only now realises that
my marriage is going nowhere. I have spent my entire professional
life creating today's Europe, but today's Europe is not the one
that I had intended. But all the bits of it and the global system
(WTO) that I have contributed to, I am very proud of, as it has
brought hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and many of
them into democracy. I would really like, more than anything else,
to pass on the baton of European peace and prosperity to the
younger generation who did not themselves suffer from the wars, so
they can avoid the mistakes of the past.
I love to listen to
music of all kinds, from ancient, through classical to modern, from
all parts of the world, whether at home or at a concert.
I love
the country life and in particular walking through the
countryside.
Most of all, I dream of having a woman who just
wants to share these beautiful things with me. |
